Tucson police are investigating a fatal crash that took place Saturday morning in the area of South Park Avenue and East Drexel Road.

Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash on Tucson's south side early Saturday morning, officials said.

Police responded to the crash in the area of South Park Avenue and East Drexel Road shortly after 5 a.m., said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

Police found two people dead inside of one of the cars and the occupants of the second vehicle had fled the scene on foot, Dugan said.

As of 1:30 p.m., the suspects still had not been located.

The intersection of Park and Drexel is closed to traffic, as detectives are still investigating the incident.

No additional details about the crash were immediately available.
