John and Tom Power lived with their father John in a cabin in the Galiuro Mountains, near Klondyke. The brothers were accused of draft evasion and were ordered arrested. A posse rode horses to the cabin early on Feb. 10, 1918. A shootout ensued, resulting in the deaths of the Graham County Sheriff and two deputies, as well as the elder John Power.
