Pima County Animal Care Center

Those interested in being dog walkers on New Year’s Day for a Pima Animal Care Center event must register Wednesday, Dec. 30.

A volunteer waiver form can be found under the volunteer section at Holiday Dog Walk RSVP at the county’s animal care center website.

Participants must be 16 years old to walk a dog on their own, or accompanied by an adult if between 11 to 15, officials said. The dog walk is from 10 a.m. to noon at 4000 N. Silverbell Road.

“We love it when our community comes out to support our pets,” Karen Hollish, the center’s director of development and marketing, said in a news release.

After the event, the center will host free adoptions from noon to 3 p.m. on all dogs, cats, puppies and kittens, organizers said. A $16 licensing fee will apply to all adult dogs.
