Six people have been arrested in connection with a violent home invasion at a Tucson apartment Thursday night, Tucson police say.

Police were called to an apartment complex in the 4900 block of East Fifth Street  just before 11 p.m. Thursday by a caller who said men had burst into an apartment. The complex is near North Swan Road.

Police say four occupants were held at gunpoint and two were assaulted before the gunmen fled with marijuana, several thousand dollars and other items, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson police spokesman.

A short time later police stopped a vehicle that matched the description of the getaway car. The occupants ran away after a short pursuit, but they were eventually apprehended, police say. Guns and stolen property was recovered.
