What: Ben’s Bells promotes kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is “belled.”
Last week’s recipient: Dentist Michael Allen.
Nominated by: Deborah Schneider-Richardson.
Why: For generously helping others. Allen goes weekly to Nogales to provide free dental care to those in need, Schneider-Richardson wrote in her nomination letter. He also provided free care to one of Schneider-Richardson’s students who had serious dental issues. “Dr. Allen is a model of kindness and an asset to his community,” she wrote in her letter.
