From left to right, Yedid Musni, bellee Donna Walker and Angela Tenace.

What: Ben’s Bells promotes kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is β€œbelled.”

Last week’s recipient: Donna Walker

Nominated by: Angela Tenace

Why: For her commitment and selflessness to students and their needs. Walker is the community liaison at Palo Verde Magnet High School. Tenace wrote in her nomination letter that Walker does so much for the students and staff. Walker feeds students with snacks every day from her own finances and she also provides hygiene and academic materials for any student who needs it, Tenace wrote. She brings food and snacks to the staff lounge weekly. β€œShe will cloth, shelter, feed and provide for all faculty and students for whatever we all may need,” Tenace wrote. She has helped students with sports equipment like cleats. β€œShe is the kindest, most wholehearted individual and always has a smile on her face. If you need a hug a smile or shelter she is the person to go to. She brightens our days simply by seeing her and makes our school community a safe and loving place to be,” Tenace wrote.
