A woman who was struck by a car earlier this month has died, officials say.
Rebecca M. Labrecque, 59, was hit by a car on April 14 and taken to the hospital. On Monday, Tucson police officers were informed that Labrecque had died from her injuries.
The crash happened about 8 a.m. April 14 in the area of South Sixth Avenue and West Veterans Boulevard, near the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System.
Detectives determined that Labrecque was walking eastbound across Sixth Avenue in a crosswalk when a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was driving westbound out of the VA hospital, attempting to turn left onto southbound Sixth Avenue.
While turning left, the driver struck Labrecque. Witnesses said the traffic light was green for eastbound and westbound traffic, police said in a news release.
The driver stopped and remained on scene, police said.
The driver was not impaired at the time of the crash and speeding doesn’t appear to be a factor, according to police.
No charges or citations have been issued.
