A phone threat was called into Marana High School Tuesday afternoon and officers investigated and found nothing suspicious, officials said.

The threat to the school was made shortly before 3 p.m. School officials contacted Marana police officers.

A school resource officer was on scene and worked with school administrators to evacuate the school as a precautionary measure, said officials.

Once more officers arrived at the school, 12000 W. Emigh Road, it was secured.

Staff supervised students during the evacuation, and students and staff were allowed back into the buildings at 3:20 p.m. Students were dismissed at the regular dismissal time of 3:40 p.m, said officials.

After-school activities and sports programs continued as usual.
