A major crash on eastbound Interstate 10 at Avra Valley Road has caused serious traffic delays in both directions of travel, authorities said.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety and Northwest Fire District are on the scene dealing with a fire that was caused by the crash, according to a tweet from the Town of Marana.
Both directions of travel were previously closed to traffic, but the westbound lanes have since reopened, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
One eastbound lane has reopened and drivers are advised to expect delays in both directions.
Northwest Fire posted a video of the aftermath of the crash, saying that a car crashed with the semi and became wedged under the truck, starting a fire.
Video from the I-10/Avra Valley incident this morning. A car collided with the semi and is wedged under the truck causing the fire. Incredibly the driver was able to get out of the car and has non-life threatening injuries. WB lanes opened, EB restricted. pic.twitter.com/G6991I4O0P
