Officials are asking the public for any information regarding an apparent armed robbery at a Tucson Safeway earlier this month.
Shortly after 2 p.m. on June 6, deputies arrived to Safeway, located at 7110 N. Oracle Rd., for calls of an armed robbery, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said.Â
Deputies were told that a man stole two bottles of liquor and left the store on foot, where he was later confronted by a loss prevention officer. According to the sheriff's department, the suspect threatened the officer and said, "I have a pistol, and if you don't back off, I'll use it."
Officials say the suspect left the area westbound on foot. He is said to be around 5'6, around 130-140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, denim shorts and gray shoes.
The sheriff's department said the investigation is ongoing and detectives are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with additional information can call 911.
