TUCSON, Ariz. — Drivers on Ajo Way near Kennedy Park in Tucson may be a little surprised to find a couple of bighorn sheep staring at them from a cliff.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department says it's been getting calls about the animals, which have travelled from the Tucson Mountains to Ironwood National Monument and Saguaro National Monument West before making their way south to Ajo Way.

The bighorn sheep population has been in decline for several years and now totals only about 6,000 in all of Arizona.

Pictures show the two sheep standing over a cliff that overlooks Ajo. Game and Fish says drivers shouldn't park on the road shoulder to get a glimpse or picture as this poses a traffic hazard.

There are about 175 to 200 bighorn sheep at Ironwood National Monument.
