Marana police officers arrested a suspect in a fraud investigation after citizens provided the department with further information.

Matthew Farruggio, 40, was located at a residence near Tanque Verde Road and Houghton Road and taken into custody on Wednesday morning.

"Thanks to several tips, Marana police officers and detectives located Matthew Farruggio this morning on the east side of Tucson," said Sgt. Chriswell Scott, the department's public information officer on Twitter.

Multiple citizens called the department after they viewed Farruggio's photo, which was posted on social media by the department.

Farruggio is being held at the Pima County Jail on multiple felony fraud charges, the department said on its Facebook page.
