A 63-year-old woman drowned at her south side home Tuesday, in Tucson's third fatal drowning of 2016.
Shortly after 10 p.m., Drexel Heights Fire Department responded to reports of a drowning in the 5500 block of West Louisiana Street, said department spokeswoman, Tracy Koslowki.
When crews arrived, the woman was in cardiac arrest and Pima County Sheriff's deputies were performing CPR. Drexel Heights crews took over first aid, and she was transported to St. Mary's hospital, where she later died.
This is Pima County's seventh fatal or near-fatal drowning incident of 2016.
