The University of Arizona was dubbed a âbest buyâ school by the Fiske Guide to Colleges 2019.
Edward B. Fiske founded the guide in 1982 to identify schools offering quality academic programs to students for an affordable price and make the results available to college-bound students and their families.
The Tucson university was one of 320 schools recognized worldwide. Only 20 schools were recognized in the United States. Of those, 10 were public universities.
According to the guide, the UAâs âlarge and highly regarded honors college attracts top students, as do excellent programs in the sciences, engineering and business,â adding the âvast majority of UA students are outgoing and openhearted.â
The guide also referred to the UAâs â100 percent engagement initiative,â which âprovides every interested student the opportunity to have a significant real-world learning experience.â
âAt the UA, we are committed to providing the best possible education at the lowest possible cost so that our students have the skills needed to be the innovators, leaders and global citizens in a rapidly changing 21st century landscape,â said UA President Robert Robbins.
âBeing named on this list is a reflection of our continuing efforts, the excellence our faculty bring to the classroom and lab, and the hard work our students put into their futures,â he said. âI am proud that the UA has been recognized in this way.â
