A little rain and cold couldn't deter William Lewis, 66, a native-New Englander, from his daily morning walk at Morris K. Udall Regional Park, 7200 E. The first winter storm of 2018 has arrived, with valley rain and mountain snow expected to begin this evening.

Forecasts are still predicting less than 0.50 of an inch of rain, but snow is another story, with up to 7 inches possible on the Catalina Mountains.

Much cooler temperatures are expected tomorrow as precipitation ends and dry conditions return Thursday into next Monday, along with a warming trend. Above normal temperatures should return for the weekend.
