Several Pima County roads will be closed this weekend to make way for hundreds of bicyclists taking part in the 33rd Tucson Bicycle Classic.
On Friday, McCain Loop Road will close from noon until 6 p.m. with heavy bicycle traffic along Kinney Road from Old Tucson to starting point on McCain Loop.
Saturday marks the Sahuarita Road Race, where the northbound lane of Mission Road will close between Duval Mine and Helmet Peak roads from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Southbound lanes will remain open.
Sundayβs final race will close North Greasewood Road between Anklam Road and Speedway Boulevard from 6 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Officials expect around 450 racers from the United States, Canada and Mexico to participate.
