Light the Night, a regional safety program that provides safety material to bicyclists and pedestrians, will distribute front and back bicycle lights beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the east end of the University of Arizona mall.

The Pima Association of Governments along with the UA and city of Tucson partnered to purchase and distribute the bike lights.

A limited number of bicycle helmets for youths will also be given away at the event. Safety information will also be available for riders and pedestrians.

The event is one of four main events held by the Light the Night program in the region each year.

The lights will be handed out until 7 p.m. or while supplies last.
