A man and teen girl were wounded in a gang-related drive-by shooting on the city’s east sideΒ  Sunday evening, but a toddler sitting in the same vehicle was not injured, Tucson police say.

In the shooting, the three were in a car near South Pantano and East Stella Roads about 5:45 p.m. when a gunman in another car pulled up and opened fire, Sgt. Pete Dugan says. The shooting happened near Lakeside Park.

The gunfire struck the man and teen.

The toddler, who was in the car’s back seat, was not wounded, police said.

Police on Sunday the shooting did not appear to be random and investigators initially said it appeared to be gang-related.
