Two Sierra Vista residents face a string of felony charges after a drug-sniffing dog was deployed during a Tuesday evening traffic stop, the Cochise County Sheriff's Department says.
The canine led deputies to a weapon, drugs and drug paraphernalia in a vehicle they pulled over near East Fry Boulevard and Bel Aire Place in Sierra Vista, the department said in a news release Wednesday.
The drug stash included methamphetamine, marijuana and butane honey oil (also known as hash oil.)
The vehicle's driver, identified as Robert Montoya, 44, is charged with possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a dangerous drug for sale and four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
A passenger, identified as Mari Kirby, 23, is charged with possession of a narcotic; possession of a weapon during commission of a drug offense; using an electronic device during a drug offense; three counts of marijuana possession and six counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
