NOGALES, Ariz. â Customs and Border Protection officers in Nogales have seized more than five tons of marijuana that was in a shipment of vacuum pump parts.
Officers at the Mariposa Commercial Facility arrested the 23-year-old tractor-trailer driver from Mexico on Wednesday at the Port of Nogales.
CBP officers working with a narcotics-detection dog discovered more than 10,000 pounds of marijuana in the big rig, worth an estimated $5 million.
They seized the drugs and vehicle and turned the man over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
The name of the man wasn't released Thursday.
