Customs officers found a pound of methamphetamine hidden in tamales Monday.

A 19-year-old Nogales, Arizona man attempted to bring the drugs into the Untied States through the Morley Pedestrian Gate in downtown Nogales, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a news release.

The man reportedly told customs officers a bag he was carrying contained food items. But on further inspection the officers found the tamales packed with meth valued at more than $3,000.

On May 20, customs officers arrested a Nogales, Arizona woman at the Morley gate and seized about one pound of meth hidden inside burritos.

In a separate incident Monday, customs officers at the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales found 264 pounds of marijuana, valued at more than $132,000, hidden inside brick pavers in a truck.
