A Giant Black Swallowtail (Papilio cresphontes) perched in our Crepe Myrtle Tree. Huge butterfly with a 5" wing span. The Giant Black Swallowtail remained on the Crepe Myrtle tree, without moving, for well over 5 minutes or so âĻ long enough for me to fetch my camera, adjust the settings, set up a small step stool, and capture several close up photos. Even after I closed up shop, left the site, the magnificent Butterly remained in place! Wonderful natural butterfly moment!

The "Triplets" photo was taken during a hike on the Horton Springs Trail (Mogollon Rim) during the summer of 2012. Various kinds of butterflies were very drawn to those orange flowers, but I thought the image of the 3 lined up was pretty funny. Being a Marx Brothers fan, I named them Harpo, Chico, and Groucho.
