"Rosie" -- a corpse flower at the Tucson Botanical Gardens -- is expected to start blooming on Thursday night.

Excitement is growing to see (and smell) the 'corpse flower' that's scheduled to bloom any day now at the Tucson Botanical Gardens.

The gardens said that more than 100 people were in line on Friday morning to see the flower.

They also said the live stream, which you can watch online for free, had almost 10,000 viewers yesterday from all over the world, including Italy, Canada and Caribbean islands.

Apparently woman from Portland, Oregon was even trying to fly to Tucson so she could catch the rare bloom.

The gardens originally thought "Rosie" was going to bloom on Thursday night, but said the flower had a pretty uneventful day.

However, the flower did grow one-and-a-half inches by Friday morning and is getting fatter, according to the garden's most recent online post

The corpse flower is one of the rarest and largest flowers in the world, and one of the only flowers that emits the smell of rotting flesh. The flower typically only blooms once every 10 years and only lasts for 24-36 hours.
