A woman was struck and killed by a Union Pacific train early Saturday morning on Tucson's south side.
The incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. near First Avenue and Bilby Road, near Nogales Highway, Union Pacific Police said. They noted the woman, who was on foot, was not crossing the tracks at a designated crossing area when she was struck.
The train’s crew was uninjured, and the incident remains under investigation.
