Seven people have been nominated to fill an opening on the Pima County Superior Court bench, officials said.
The list of nominees has been sent to Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs by the Pima County Commission on Trial Court Appointments, a news release said.
The nominees are:
- Michael J. Martinez Areinoff, an independent. Areinoff is associate general counsel at the Tucson Unified School District.
- Daniel R. Huff, a Republican. Huff is a commissioner with Pima County Superior Court.
- Nanette C. A. Morrow, a Republican. Morrow is senior litigation counsel with the Arizona Attorney Generalβs Office.
- Kristin J. Schriner, a Democrat. Schriner is a commissioner with the Pima County Superior Court.
- Nathan T. Wade, a Democrat. Wade is a commissioner with the Pima County Superior Court.
- Kendrick A. Wilson, a Democrat. Wilson is a justice of the peace with the Pima County Consolidated Justice Court.
- Antonio Lopez Zapata, a Democrat. Zapata is a legal advisor at the Tucson Police Department.
The opening was the result of the resignation of Renee T. Bennett. Hobbs will make the appointment.
