A two-car crash in Sahuarita Monday sent two adults and six children to Banner-University Medical Center Tucson.

Their injuries ranged from serious to non-life threatening, said Chief Joey Kosiorowski of the Green Valley Fire District.

Eleven firefighters and five ambulances responded to the crash shortly after 5 p.m. at South Nogales Highway and West Calle Arroyo Sur.

Firefighters had to cut one car to get a person out, said Kosiorowski.

He said one car had one woman and two children, and the other car had one woman and four children. Β

Motorists are asked to avoid the area until 8 p.m.

The intersection remains closed as Sahuarita Police Department officers investigate.

Pima County Sheriff's Department deputies are also assisting at the scene.

No further information was immediately available.
