Five Tucson men police say were part of a home-invasion crew have been arrested, officials say.
The men were arrested after agents with Counter Narcotics Alliance started an investigation after getting a tip about a man involved in drug trafficking and home invasions, Tucson Police Sgt. Kimberly Bay said in a news release.
Officers and agents from the drug force worked with the Attorney General’s Office and eventually identified the five men they say are involved in the crimes.
The men were arrested Wednesday night without incident at a local hotel, Bay said.
She said the arrests occurred just before a planned home invasion. Weapons and other items that could have been used during the course of a home invasion were recovered.
The five men are: Santos Jesus Rodriguez, 25; Luis Angel Coronado, 32; Gabriel Abran Lopez, 26; James Joe Johnson, 28; and Lonnie James Rodriguez, 25.
They each were arrested on suspicion of various felonies, including conspiracy to commit armed robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, conspiracy to commit burglary and drug offenses.
The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call 88-CRIME.
