A man suspected in two credit union robberies was arrested when a person tipped off police to his whereabouts after seeing his photo through the media.

Andrew Michael Nelson, 42, is facing two counts of armed robbery and false reporting. He also was arrested on an unrelated misdemeanor warrant and a felony probation violation, police said.

He was booked into the Pima County jail Wednesday.

Detectives followed leads and during the investigation linked Nelson to the Aug. 30 robbery of SunWest Federal Credit Union at 7725 E. Broadway, and the Sept. 6 robbery of Pyramid Federal Credit Union at 7740 E. Speedway.
