Robbery detectives with the Pima County Sheriff's Department are asking for the public's help in locating a man believed to be responsible for at least five robberies in the Tucson-area over the past month.
On Sept. 2, shortly before 2 p.m., deputies arrived at the Walgreens located at 9220 North Thornydale Road, in reference to a robbery that could have involved a weapon, Deputy Alicia Cartwright said in a news release.
Witnesses reported that the man entered the store and demanded money from the cashier. Although no one was injured, the suspect implied to the cashier that he had a weapon, Cartwright said.
The other robberies the suspect is believed to be responsible for include an August 17 robbery at Walgreen's, two robberies on August 19 at a Holiday Inn Express in Marana and a Diamond Shamrock Corner Store,Β and anΒ August 23 robbery at a Subway restaurant.
The suspect has been described as standing 5'8" tall, with a medium build and a dark complexion. In each robbery, he has been wearing various types of hats and sunglasses, but in the most recent incident he was wearing a backwards New York Yankees baseball cap, dark sunglasses and a blue shirt and shorts, Cartwright said.
Anyone with any information regarding the man's identity or whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
