Cody Clark

A Tucson man was found guilty of first-degree murder Monday, in the 2015 Marana shooting death of an acquaintance, officials said.

Cody Clark, 25, was arrested on March 23, 2015, after police discovered 22-year-old Austin Gann's body in inside his car in a desert area near I-10 and West Cortaro Road, according to Arizona Daily Star archives.

The pair were linked to an argument the previous night at an apartment complex near West Linda Vista Boulevard and North Camino de Oeste that was under investigation by the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

Gann was found dead with a single gunshot wound, and investigators believe that he was shot to death there. A handgun was recovered, but details weren't provided at the time.

Shortly Gann's vehicle was discovered, Marana police responded to the 8000 block of North Mountain Stone Pine Way to a report by a homeowner of a man damaging the landscaping in their yard, Β at which time Clark was arrested for criminal damage. He was in custody when officers found out about Gann.

Clark's sentencing is scheduled for February 6 in Pima County Superior Court, said court spokeswoman, Krisanne LoGalbo.
