Officers seized nearly 3,000 pounds of marijuana hidden in a shipment of watermelons at the Mariposa port of entry in Nogales, Monday evening.

The truck carrying the drugs and fruit was inspected after an x-ray scan showed an anomaly in the cargo, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Officers found 128 bundles of marijuana mixed in with the watermelons, the release said. The load of pot at $1.5 million.

The 44-year-old man driving the truck was arrested, the release said.
