Detectives with the Sheriff's department auto theft unit are looking for a man wanted in connection with a stolen car that was found abandoned at a gas station on Tucson's southwest side.
On Oct. 24, Pima County Sheriff's deputies discovered an abandoned gold Nissan Maxima in the parking lot of the Valero gas station, 4685 E. Valencia Road, said department spokesman, Deputy Cody Gress.
They quickly discovered thatย the car had been stolen from a home in Tucson Police Department's jurisdiction, Gress said.
Security footage at the gas station and interviews with the staff revealed that the car was left in the parking lot at about 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 11, Gress said.
Footage also showed the car being parked by a man who entered the Valero store on the same night, then left the area on foot, Gress said.
The suspect is believed to be in his late 20s, standing 5'10" in height, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a grey Arizona Diamondbacks baseball hat, Air Jordan shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone that can be of help in identifying the suspect is asked to call 911. Anonymous tips with the potential for reward can be left by text, phone or online at 88-CRIME.org.
