Police identified the man who died in a Sunday night shooting at an east side apartment complex as Angel Valenzuela, 28. 

Officers responded a multiple reports of a shooting at the complex at 5180 E. 22nd St, about 9:30 p.m., police said in a news release. 

Valenzuela, along with another man who suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and a teenage boy who suffered serious gunshot wounds, went to the complex to meet a friend, police said. 

An unknown man approached the trio as they sat in a vehicle in the complex's parking lot, police said. The gunman fired several rounds from a handgun after and argument, striking Valenzuela and his companions, police say. THe gunman sped off in a dark-colored sedan. 

All three were taken to a hospital, but Valenzuela died on the way, police said. The other man and the teenage boy are expected to survive, police say. 

The shooting appeared to be gang-related and gang detectives are investigating, police said.
