Tucson Electric Power workers pull back telecommunications lines snagged on the bed of a dump truck after it became entangled in the lines at 6 a.m. on Jan. 19, 2017 on La Cholla Blvd south of Wetmore Road. A Northwest Fire spokesman said electric lines never touched the truck and firefighters safely extricated the driver, who was uninjured. TEP shutdown power to the area as a precaution. La Cholla will be closed between La Osa and Gardner while crews replace the pole and wires.
A downed power pole has closed North La Cholla Boulevard to all traffic between West Wetmore Road and West Gardner Lane, authorities said.
