The Pima County Health Department will be moving three services in the Northwest Service Center this summer.
The Northwest Service Center, 1010 W. Miracle Mile Road, will house the Health Departmentβs consumer health and food safety, vital records and the North Clinic. The moves are expected in June and July, the county said in a news release.
Dr. Theresa Cullen, the departmentβs director, said the hope for this move to βfill a need for residents in the area.β
βThis particular zip code, 85705, is one where we have seen a request for all types of the services that our team offers, from birth certificates to food permits,β Cullen said in a news release. βMaking this move is one step in many where we are trying to meet the needs and improve the health status of this community.β
The Pima County Health Department will be moving three services into the Northwest Service Center located on West Miracle Mile at the site of the former Golden Pin lanes bowling alley.
Health and food safety will be operating out of the new center starting June 4, Wednesday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It will be closed each day from noon to 1 p.m. The agency works to educate βbusinesses and the public on best practices to prevent the spread of foodborne illness, waterborne illness, and public health nuisances.β
The Countyβs Vital Records office, where you can request birth certificates and death certificates, will operate out of the new location starting June 17. Itβll be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed each day from 1 to 2 p.m.
Both the Consumer Health and Food Safety agency and the Vital Records office will still be available at the Abrams Public Health Center, 3950 S. Country Club Road, the county said. Hours for the food safety agency at Abrams will remain the same, but βMobile Unit Inspectionsβ will be done only at the new location. Hours for the Vital Records office at Abrams will span 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., closed from 1 to 2 p.m., on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The North Clinic will close its current location at 3550 N. First Ave., on June 12. It will open the new location at the Northwest Service Center on July 6. It will be open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., closed from noon to 1 p.m.
Pima County One-Stop, which serves βadult job seekers,β opened its location at the Northwest Service Center on May 19. It operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
