Campaign finance records in the race for Pima County sheriff show that Republican challenger Mark Napier brought in three times the donations as Sheriff Chris Nanos during the most recent reporting period.

From Sept. 20 through Oct. 27, Napier received $21,500 to Nanos' $6,650, records show.

In the same period, Napier spent $44,500 on his campaign to Nanos' $15,000.

For the second consecutive reporting period, Nanos was late in filing his paperwork.

In the pre-primary reporting period, which covered June 1 through Aug. 19, Jim Click, his family members and employees donated $3,850 to Nanos.

No one affiliated with Click donated to Nanos' campaign this period, but Click did contribute $6,250 — the maximum amount allowed — to Napier's campaign.

For the entire campaign cycle, Napier brought in a total of $47,000 in donations to Nanos' $45,000, but also took out $27,500 in loans whereas Nanos borrowed only $12,000.

As of Nov. 4, Napier spent $76,000 on his campaign to Nanos' $57,000.
