Scattered showers and thunderstorms could move in to the area this afternoon, the National Weather Service in Tucson says.
The storms are developing in the mountains east of the city and are headed into the valleys, the forecast says. Unfortunately for city dwellers, the storms are expected to stay south and southeast of Tucson. The area that could be affected stretches loosely from Nogales east to Douglas, and from the Arizona-Sonora border north to Willcox.
Expect brief downpours and wind gusts of up to 45 miles per hour, the forecast says.
