The Skin Cancer Institute at the University of Arizona Cancer Center will hold its eighth annual Melanoma Walk on Saturday, Nov. 4.

Activities begin at 3 p.m., with the walk starting at 4:30 p.m. at the UA Mall.

The walk is a family- and pet-friendly event and includes prizes and giveaways, music, food, a silent auction and activities for children. Registered participants will receive a goody bag and food.

Before the walk, the Skin Cancer Institute will offer free screenings and spot checks from 2 to 4 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.

Visitors do not need to be registered for the walk to receive a free screening.

Proceeds from the walk support melanoma research, community outreach, education and patient care in Arizona. The institute hopes to raise about $75,000 through the walk.

Advance registration is $30 for adults, $15 for children 10 to 14, and is free to children ages 9 and younger.
