The Mulberry Fire, which is burning 8Β miles southeast of Vail, expanded to 1,750 acres with 45 percent containment as of 5 p.m. SundayΒ evening, according to an update from the ArizonaΒ Department of Forestry and Fire Management. Β 

More than 200 personnel have been assigned to the fire from theΒ Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire, the Bureau of Land Management, the US Forest Service. Multiple aviation resources have been tapped, including six air tankers, the update said.Β 

The Pima County Sheriff’s DepartmentΒ initially evacuated residents along milepost 52 of Arizona 83, but theΒ evacuation notice has since been lifted.Β 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.Β
