A beloved Tucson landmark is getting some much deserved attention, after it was mentioned on NPR's flagship news show earlier in the week.

The four-minute piece that aired Thursday during "All Things Considered" is part of an ongoing segment on the show called "Finding America."

The series was inspired by Donald Trump's promise that he would be president for All Americans, according to the description on its website. In the weeks leading up to the Jan. 20 inauguration, "Finding America" has been sharing the stories of communities across the country.

Tucsonan Gabriel Otero takes listeners on a tour of Mission San Xavier del Bac, talking about its history, culture and importance to his family and theΒ community.

"At the Catholic Mission San Xavier del Bac, you can see this blending of Tucson's heritage," can be heard in the opening lines of the piece.

For those who have never been,Β theΒ Spanish Catholic missionΒ is located about ten miles south of downtown Tucson. It's open to the public every day with docents who can give guided tours, and offers several Mass services each week.
