Ace Pickleball Club will open an 11-court facility in the former Stein Mart on Stone Avenue, near River Road, this year.

The former Stein Mart department store on Stone Avenue will soon be transformed into an indoor pickleball facility.

The 34,000-square-foot building at 4881 N. Stone Ave., at River Road, has been leased by Ace Pickleball Club.

It will have 11 indoor courts.

The Roswell, Georgia, franchise plans 50 new court openings beginning this year throughout the country.

The sport is quickly growing in popularity and the Tucson area has been attracting new court operators and seen developers adding pickleball courts to new apartment complexes and bars.

Another national chain recently announced that five new indoor venues will be opening in the Tucson area.

Olin Bradford Hazen and Emma Nicola Hazen bought a retail center at 5550, 5650, 5680 S. 12th Ave. from Foothills Business Ventures LLC and Billabong Properties LLC for $3.7 million. Chris Tsighis, with Coldwell Banker, represented the seller and Chaz Elsten, with AZ Flat Fee, represented the buyer.

El Dorado Ventures LLC sold El Dorado Square, a 70,000-square-foot office complex at 1200 N. El Dorado Place, for $3.5 million. Dave Volk, with Volk Co., and Jim Fijan, with Transwestern Commercial, represented the seller. The buyer was Dorado Opportunity Group LLC, a subsidiary of Larsen Baker, which specializes in revitalizing older properties.

The Pacific Southwest District of the Wesleyan Church bought a 19,114-square-foot office building at 730 W. Calle Arroyo Sur from Instructional Technology Inc. for $2.3 million. Chris Tsighis and Jonathan Bailey, with Coldwell Banker, represented the buyer. Patrick Welchert, with Alpha Commercial Real Estate Service, represented the seller.

God’s Vast Resources purchased 7,089 square feet of retail space at 6161 E. 22nd St. from The Valley National Bank of Arizona for $1.1 million. Dave Hammack, with Picor, represented the seller and David Montijo, with CBRE, represented the buyer.

PK Dunkin’ Properties LLC bought 32,500 square feet of land at the southwest corner of Marana Main Street and Interstate 10 for $715,000 to develop a Dunkin’ donuts store. Joey Castillo, with Volk Co., represented the buyer. Ben Craney and Scott Soelter, of NAI Horizon, represented the seller.

Chela’s Latin Cuisine LLC leased 3,684 square feet of restaurant space at 256 E. Congress St., from Tucson 5C Hotel LLC. Dennis Saunders, of Tucson Realty & Trust Co., represented the tenant and Buzz Isaacson, of Buzz Isaacson Realty LLC, represented the landlord.
