A Tucson police officer has been arrested in connection with a domestic violence incident, according to the department.
Michael Sauber, who was hired in April 2016 and is still a probationary employee, is facing charges of domestic violence/aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct, all felonies. He was booked into the Pima County jail.
Police said in a news release Monday that officials were notified on Saturday of potential misconduct on the part of Sauber involving an off-duty domestic violence incident involving a weapon on Friday.
The department began a criminal and administrative investigation into Sauber.
Sauber has been on leave with pay as the investigations continue.
