Rodeo season is still months away, but that doesn't mean it can't get some love in the offseason from Rolling Stone Magazine.
"From the hard earth to the cowboys that work it, Tucson is one hell of a tough city," the article starts. "It's the sort of land that makes its inhabitants comfortable with discomfort, and thus, is a natural stomping ground for rodeo riders."
In the article, "Rope, Ride and Rally: Cowboys of Tucson Never Give Up," Rolling Stone visits the Tucson rodeo scene and talks to some of the people for whom rodeo is a way of life.
Featured in the article are Chuck Hensen, a former rodeo rider turned rodeo clown, and Rio Lee, a 20-year-old pro-rider from Tucson who competed in the 2016 Fiesta de los Vaqueros.
The article also features Tucson rancher Russell True, who hosts aΒ small weekly rodeo for guests who stay at the White Stallion Ranch, and Joe and Sarah King of Anvil Ranch.
