Tucson monsoon

Monsoon clouds gather over the cactus forest in the Saguaro National Park West, Wednesday, August 10, 2016.

Most of Tucson is waking up to puddles on the ground this morning, after a widespread overnight monsoon drenched the entire metro and surrounding areas.

Rain total for the past 24 hours averaged between 0.50 inches and one inch, with some locations seeing more.

With lingering moisture still in the area, light to moderate rainfall is possible as the morning progresses but new shower and thunderstorm activity isn't expected to start until later in the day.
