A vacant mobile home was destroyed in a fire Wednesday night on Tucson's north side.
Shortly after 7 p.m., Northwest Fire District firefighters responded to the 1800 block of West Desert Broom Lane after multiple 911 callers reported smoke and flames coming from the home, said Capt. Brian Keeley, a fire district spokesman.
Neighbors told firefighters that the home was vacant and no one was seen in the area prior to the fire. The neighborhood is east of Interstate 10 and north of West Prince Road.
Twenty firefighters battled the blaze for 30 minutes before it was brought under control, Keeley said. Crews then walked into the home and confirmed no one was inside.
Fire investigators were on scene working to determine the cause, said Keeley. A damage estimate was unknown.
