Tucson police are searching for an armed robber who fired twice inside a Whataburger on the south-side Sunday night.
The armed robber also matches the description of two other robberies Sunday night at convenience stores, according to a Tucson Police Department Facebook post.
On Aug. 6 at about 9:40 p.m., a man walked up to the drive-through window of Whataburger at 3925 S. Sixth Ave., just south of East Ajo Way, armed with a gun.
The man walked in between the window and a customer in their vehicle at the drive-through. The robber pointed the gun at an employee and demanded money, police said.
The customer drove away and the employee backed away from the window. The robber fired two rounds inside the fast-food restaurant and then ran away.
No one was injured during the robbery, police said.
The shooting was captured on video. The robber is described as a light-skinned Hispanic man in his mid- to- late 20s. He is about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall with a thin to medium build. He has a tattoo on his upper right collarbone area.
The robber was last seen wearing a gray long-sleeved shirt, dark pants, gloves, a black bandana and a blue baseball hat with a star on the front and a light- colored brim.
Police said about 30 minutes later, a man matching the same description walked into a 7-11 convenience store at 885 E. 22nd St. It is at 22nd and South Park Avenue.
The man found the clerk inside the store and pointed a handgun at him. He directed him over to the register and demanded money, police said. He was given an undisclosed amount of money and he ran away heading west, authorities said. No one was injured in the robbery.
And also about 11:15 p.m. Aug. 6, a man matching the description in the two earlier robberies, walked into an AM/PM convenience store at 501 W. Irvington Road at South 12th Avenue, police said.
The robber pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. He was given and undisclosed amount of cash and he left the store on foot. No one was injured in this incident.
Investigators ask that if anyone sees this man to call 911 immediately. The man should not be approached because he should be considered armed and dangerous, said police.
