It's the first day of autumn and some people can't wait to get in the spirit with pumpkin patches, fall festivals and a journey through the corn maze.
Luckily for Tucsonans, we've got some variety when it comes to the latter, with three great corn mazes in or near town.
They're so great, in fact, that they've all landed on Best Things Arizona's list of the 10 best corn mazes in the state.
The first local spot on the list is Tucson's own Buckelew Farms, with their 29th annual Pumpkin Festival and Corn Maze kicking off on October 7.
"It doesn't get much better than Buckelew Farms," Best Things Arizona writes in the article. "Their family-friendly corn maze is a fun challenge, but there’s no denying the appeal of Buckelew’s haunted corn maze. It’s a haunted cornfield that rivals even the scariest haunted houses."
The next semi-local spot on the list is Apple Annie's Orchard, a short trip down the road in Willcox.
Apple Annie's 20-acre corn maze (with two levels of difficulty) is the largest in the state and opened to the public last weekend.
"You can easily get lost during a winding adventure through the maze," Best Things Writes, adding that it's the main event in Apple Annie's annual Fall Pumpkin Celebration, which kicks off this weekend.
Not to be left out, Marana Pumpkin Patch is the newest entry on the list, but Best Things says that doesn't mean it's any less impressive, as the pumpkin patch has been hosting annual fall activities for the last seven years.
"The festival includes fall festival staples like petting zoos, a pumpkin patch, and endless food options," Best Things writes. "They also have two carefully crafted corn mazes. You can choose between the Post Farms Corn Maze and the equally difficult Great Pumpkin Corn Maze."
Marana Pumpkin Patch and Farm Festival runs from October 7 through October 29.
