The sun goes down and the flames rise from the Woodward Fire burning in grass and scrub trees in the foothills of the Huachuca Mountains late Thursday, March 21, 2018, near Elgin, Ariz.Β 

The Woodward Fire started in Woodward Canyon on the northwestern side of the Huachuca Mountains midday Thursday.

It was 120 acres by late afternoon, fanned by sporadic high winds. It was burning along the western edge of Ft. Huachuca Army Base.

There was no immediate danger to structures.

Crews from Coronado National Forest and other agencies were fighting the fire on the ground.
