DACA protests in Tucson
- Updated
Tucsonans held two protests on Sept. 5 in the hours after Trump administration officials announced the end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy that protected young people brought to the United States illegally by their parents. About 100 local high school students left class and held a demonstration in favor of DACA on the mall of the University of Arizona and about 150 people gathered outside Tucson City Hall to demand local leaders protect vulnerable communities.
