Some suggestions for having the most luck with the popular lottery game.

The Powerball jackpot rose to $880 million ahead of the Monday drawing after no one on Saturday took home the prize. 

The cash value of Monday's jackpot was an estimated $405.9 million, which was the seventh-largest Powerball jackpot in the history of the game.

However, no one won Monday night's drawing, and the jackpot once again rose to an estimated $930 million ahead of the drawing set to take place on Wednesday.

2025 has been a historic year for the Powerball. Back in September, the second-largest jackpot in the game’s history, which was an estimated $1.787 billion, was won by two tickets sold in Montana and Texas.

A Powerball ticket can make you a millionaire overnight. Tickets start at $2 apiece.

Powerball winning numbers for Dec. 8

The winning numbers for the Monday draw are: 8, 32, 52, 56, 64, and the Powerball is 23. The "Power Play" multiplier is 2x.

Did anyone win the Powerball?

No one won the Powerball jackpot or the Match 5 + Power Play $2 million prize, but one lucky person in Florida won the Match 5 $1 million prize.

When is the next Powerball drawing?

The next drawing will take place on Wednesday, just after 11 p.m. ET.

How to play the Powerball

To play the Powerball, you have to buy a ticket for $2. You can do this at a variety of locations, including your local convenience store, gas station, or even grocery store. In some states, Powerball tickets can be bought online.

Once you have your ticket, you need to pick six numbers. Five of them will be white balls with numbers from 1 to 69. The red Powerball ranges from 1 to 26. People can also add a “Power Play” for $1, which increases the winning for all non-jackpot prizes.

The “Power Play” multiplier can multiply winnings by: 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X.

If you are feeling unlucky or want the computer to do the work for you, the “Quick Pick” option is available, where computer-generated numbers will be printed on a Powerball ticket. To win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball.

Powerball drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights. If no one wins the jackpot, the cash prize will keep ticking up.
